The Living Hope String Quintet was founded more or less in the spring of 2007. We are classically trained musicians, which means we play a lot of classical music, but we also like to throw in some fiddle tunes every once in a while. Our original hymn arrangements make up the bulk of our repertoire. We have played for many church functions, weddings, banquets, and various other musical venues. Originally, the three oldest of us (Hannah, Sarah, and Esther) were a string trio and played as just "The Three Sisters" for many years. Now Abigail and Ruth have joined us on violin and cello to form a string quintet.
Hannah plays violin. She married Ross in September of 2010. She is now a busy homemaker and mother. Ross and Hannah are happy parents of four adorable children (the aunts are pretty happy too). Most of the pieces the quintet plays are arranged or composed by Hannah.
Our first cellist is Sarah. She married Wayne in November of 2010. Wayne & Sarah are happy parents of three sweet children (as before, the aunts are pretty happy with the prospect of being aunts). Like Hannah, Sarah is a busy homemaker and mother.
Esther is our violist. She married Peter in July of 2017. Peter & Esther are currently serving at a Bible College. Esther is a busy homemaker and librarian and immensely enjoys playing her viola anytime she gets a chance!
Abigail plays violin and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Agronomy in December of 2015. She got her one year Bible certificate from Frontier School of the Bible in 2011. She plays clarinet as well as violin and wants to be a farmer someday.
Ruth, also graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Agronomy in May of 2016. She keeps things lively in our quintet as our second cellist. She also enjoys playing her flute and loves anything that has to do with horses.
First and foremost we seek to glorify the Lord with our music, but we also enjoy playing together just for fun. We live and do most of our gigs in Kansas, but we also like to travel and perform in new places.
